It is time for spring gifted nominations. The window for submitting nominations closes on Friday, Jan. 20, 2017. All nominations must be submitted to the QUEST facilitator at each elementary or middle school by that date. For your convenience, an online nomination form is available https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdZOkwnDthjrtiOnWo1oGo5BmTVamJy3AbjiiZcvO16dHiqXw/viewform?c=0&w=1
It is Bulloch County Schools' policy that a student is not tested more than once in a calendar year. Any nominations received after the test window closes will be held until the fall 2017 review.
Once the nominations are closed, the eligibility team at each school will review the data submitted to determine if a student requires a formal evaluation for gifted services. A Nomination does not guarantee formal evaluation
The Bulloch County Board of Education will host its annual education forum, Speak Up for Education, for school councils, parents and the community on Thursday, January 26, 2017, 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Statesboro High School. Anyone interested in K-12 public education is invited and encouraged to attend.
Free childcare is available for the event for children ages birth - 12. Call 912.212.8553 to register your child.

The Spelling Bee or National Geographic Bee, that is! Our school is registered for both of these academic bees that are open to our fourth and fifth grade students. Our school competitions will be held in January shortly after we return fromWinter Break, but the kids can start prepping for the competitions now.
For the spelling bee, which is sponsored by Kindle this year, there is an opportunity to enter a video contest! The deadline is January 31st, so there is time to gear up with your best ideas for an incredible video. Visit www.spellebrity.com to learn more.
The links below will take you to more information and resources: games, apps across devices, and more! If you have any questions, please check with your child's teacher or Mrs. Voiselle. Good luck!
